We're investigating an issue that is causing high latency in the Notification Service.

High latency for a period of approximately 2 hours

Our replicated database experienced high latency for a period of approximately 2 hours which caused high API response latency as well as high notification delivery speeds.

The latency was caused by a sudden burst of traffic over a short period of time.

The underlying issue has been rectified, and we have taken steps to prevent this kind of situation in the future.
