High latency for a collective duration of approximately 40 minutes was caused by a bulk number of requests sent to our API during a short period of time. We have taken steps to enforce a hard limit on the number of requests that can be sent to the API on a per-account basis to prevent a similar event from happening again in the future.
API latency is back to normal.
